If you have ever had a dental crown placed in the past, it likely required multiple visits to the dentist and a temporary crown that you had to “baby” between visits. At Paxton Dental Care, patients in the Paxton and Worcester, MA area no longer must wait – with CEREC® technology, Dr. Scott Siemen can prepare, create, and place your dental crown all in the same visit.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Siemen’s for over ten years and have always had good experiences. He and his team make me comfortable when I’ve needed to have anything beyond a basic cleaning. Always patient in explaining what he is going to do and why. For anyone looking for a kind, caring and professional dental practice I highly recommend Dr. Siemen.

How same day crowns work

One visit crowns have truly revolutionized the way we place dental crowns. Since dental crowns are one of the most common dental restorations, investing in CEREC technology has enabled us to help our patients get the restorative dental care they need quickly, saving the time and hassle associated with traditional crowns—and even better, without sacrificing quality.

A same-day crown visit usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours. First, Dr. Siemen prepares your tooth for the crown to be placed by shaping the tooth. Then, we take digital impressions of your teeth and use advanced CAD/CAM 3D technology to digitally create your crown, which is then milled using CEREC® technology out of a block of strong and durable ceramic. The ceramic is shaded to match your other teeth so that your crown blends in seamlessly with your smile. You can sit back and relax, take a nap, or catch up on emails while your crown is being created. Once it is ready, Dr. Siemen will place the crown in your mouth to check the fit and adjust it as needed before cementing it into place.

Save your tooth with a Dental Crown explained
Dental crowns are caps placed over teeth to restore their shape, size, strength, and appearance. They are a great solution to replace missing teeth, as explained in this video. Call Paxton Dental Care to learn more about teeth restoration methods.

Save your tooth with a dental crown

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps that are placed over teeth to restore their shape, size, and strength and improve the appearance when needed. A crown, once cemented in place, will fully enclose the entire observable portion of the tooth. This will ensure a natural appearance while providing long-lasting protection. No dental crown is meant to last forever. But with proper care, it can last for years. No special care is necessary other than maintaining healthy oral habits.

Dental crowns are available to patients for several reasons, both cosmetic and for protection.
